How to Burn the Perfect Candle

Wow its been a long time since my last blog. This post will teach you how to create the perfect burn from your candle and increase the longevity.

Firstly, you will need a wick trimmer. Trim your wick to approximately 7mm prior to every burn, and make sure none of the trimmings remain in the candle wax. Any debris left in the candle can cause the flame to flicker to high, which will lead to soot and blackening of the glass. It will also burn your candle a lot quicker and won't produce the correct scent throw. Black candle trimmer are available on our website for only $15.

The first burn is the most important. The wax melt pool needs to go to the edge of the glass to prevent tunnelling. Candles can create a memory ring if they aren't burnt long enough. So ideally the first burn would be around 4 hours. On subsequent burns, try to allow 24 hours to set. Burning for more than 4 hours will cause the wick to mushroom, which in turn will create more soot and smoke.

Have fun with your candles, and don't forget to tag us on Instagram and Facebook.
